Seven Habits
By Christabelle Coutinho |For my 13th birthday, my uncle gifted me this book - The seven habits of highly effective people by Stephen Covey. First published in 1989, this book has sold over 25 million copies. This means that 25 million people across the world should be highly effective and successful in their endeavors. I suspect that my neighbour Mr. Gupta is one of them. He gifted all four of his children iPhones last week.
But I’m not jealous. Because I’m going to be highly effective too you know … once I’m done with this book. I think back to all those habits my poor parents and school teachers worked so hard to teach me: floss, bathe daily, eat 5 servings of fresh fruits and vegetables, exercise … I tell you none of those have been effective in getting me a Sony Playstation. So, I’m chucking out those 10th century habits and starting afresh. The only problem is that I’m going to have to read this book first.
What I can’t understand is why seven habits should take up so many pages. You know, if there were a 15-second Tik-Tok video on these seven habits I would have watched it 500 times already. I know there isn’t a Tik-Tok video on this because I went and checked and after that I spent another 200 hours watching Tik-Tok dances like this (do some trending Tik-Tok dance). And I realized that if I keep this book of Seven Habits on my head like this, I can do cool moves like this. And if I make hundreds of Tik-Tok videos like this I could get millions of followers and be highly effective and rich. And then I wouldn’t need to read this book at all.
Maybe I can give it to someone else for their birthday.
